I'll describe the PVC/surgical tubing bow that I made. I took a piece of 3/4" PVC about 12" long. I used 3/4" for strength as I cut a 'window' out of one half. The window is just like on a bow, but only about 1.5-2" long. I radiused the bottom to make a 'shelf' like on a recurve. Above and below the window I drilled two holes slightly less than .25" in diameter. I located the holes by making the shelf the center point and measured an equal distance above and below for the centers. I then threaded the ends of the surgical tubing through the holes and inserted a .25" lead ball in each end. The surgical tubing can be pulled and the ball will keep the tube from sliding out. The surgical tubing is about the same length as the tubing on a wristrocket. I then used an 1816 aluminum arrow, the smallest I had, and opened the nock into a wide Y. This then fit around the tubing without snapping on. I used a fingerpinch hold and found it is about 25#@28". I think this would be good for small game. I capped both ends just for looks, with slip on end caps after I completed it.
